This is real municipal policing.</li><li>Visitors + Residents — Seasonal activity, coastal dynamics, and year-round community engagement keep the job varied and meaningful.</li></ul><div><b>Make a real impact and join the Cohasset PD today!&nbsp;</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>Minimum Requirements</b></div><div>To be considered an eligible candidate, the Cohasset PD requires applicants receive a 70% and above on the getbadged Entry Exam and meet or exceed the Minimum Requirements as outlined below.</div><div><b><br></b></div><ul><li><b>Citizenship: </b>Be a U.S. Citizen (Birth or naturalization).</li><li><b>Age Requirement: </b>Be at least 21 years old upon appointment to the Police Academy.</li><li><b>Driver's License: </b>Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Massachusetts Driver's License.</li><li><b>Certifications:</b> Have the ability to obtain a Massachusetts Class A License to Carry a firearm (LTC-A) at the time of hire.</li><li><b>Education:&nbsp;</b>Possess a minimum of Associate's Degree or equivalent credits when enrolled in a Bachelor's program from an accredited college/university, <b>or&nbsp;</b>Possess a High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent and have achieved Veteran's status with the United Armed Forces as defined by M.G.L.</li><li><b>Background Investigation:&nbsp;</b>Can not be a convicted felon or have convictions from another jurisdiction that would be treated as a felony in the Commonwealth. Must pass a thorough background investigation prior to employment.</li><li><b>Police Academy: </b>Must have to ability to successfully complete a FT MPTC Police Academy, or equivalent, and become MA POST Certified.</li><li><b>Fitness &amp; Medical: </b>Must pass physical fitness test, medical and psychological examination, and a drug screen/test.</li><li><b>Non-Smoking:</b> Not smoke and stay a non-smoker. Smoking tobacco is prohibited as outlined in M.G.L. Chapter 41, Section 101A.</li><li><b>Entry Exam:</b> Must achieve 70%+ on the getbadged Entry Exam.</li></ul><div><b>Salary &amp; Compensation</b></div><div>The Cohasset Police Department offers a competitive salary &amp; benefits compensation package.&nbsp;</div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>Annual Salary:</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><ul><li>$69,939 - $83,510 (Effective July 1, 2026) *</li><li>Certified officers will receive credit for time served.
